Here is a simple and inexpensive way to increase sales for your woodworking business. By using this simple and very underused advertising method you should be able to increase your sales. Here’s how:

Follow this method when using vehicle signage. When I had a fleet of trucks I had the signs put in the usual places on the doors, but I also made it mandatory that we had at least one sign on the back of our trucks. Think about it. How many times are you in back of a truck on the highway or in town. There were many times I would get a call after delivering a bunk bed only to find out the person calling me had been right behind me. That person would either follow me right to my shop, which usually ended up with a sale, or when they called, I made an appointment to meet them later in the week. Either way, it was good for business and all it cost me was $50 for a sign. Try it!

As an aside, before making this post I searched my professional picture database, which is made up from three different companies that sell pictures to end users (like myself). I wanted to see for myself how many trucks have signs on the back. Guess what? Things have not changed. I went through thousands of pictures with the search terms being “truck signage”. The vast majority of these trucks have no signage at all on the back. Be smart and try this out. It pays off in a big way.
